Nothing to say

I don't have a lot to say atm its been a slow few days spent mainly playing playstation. It's been so easy to spend money doing stuff all that I decided just not to go outside lol.
We spent about 3 hours today just trying to find a bank that would change my travelers cheques and since we are off on our train trip on monday it was my last chance( banks are only open 10-3 mon-fri) >.<
Some of the extended family came over for dinner last and all seemed to enjoy watching me run over people, steal police cars and just commit random murders even "nana" who is 79 and about 4.5ft tall was having a laugh.
We also now have the full range of Asahi cans thanks to Kaori's dad (pic soon to come)

Well thats about all i have for now, hope all is well at home. Cya.

Here are just a few of the sights around Yokohama.
Yokohama bridge
A slightly smaller bridge...
This ferris wheel is massive its not the london eye but its a lot bigger than anything i have ever seen.
Finally this is a view over the area we are living, we are the big apartment building just high and right of the center. Its called Kanazawa and just a small part of Yokohama which is mainly hidden by the hills to the left of this pic.

Asahi

Well is 11:30 pm and i have been drinking Asahi so there will be more mistakes than i normally make. However in my own defense look at the size of the can of beer i can buy!

I think there is an air raid happening atm because there are sirens going off every where or maybe its just a special down at the 7-11.
Back to reality (carries on sing the M&M song in head) it rained all day today so i thought i wold just end up sitting inside playing  PS3 but no! I went outside just to take a couple of photos to show the view from were we are and then before I new it I was off chasing crows in the hills.

So on my way to find the crows i saw i took a little short cut behind the local police station. There is a little stream that runs behind it, its tiny but full of big  fish which have no where to go. While walking down here i saw this massive heron fishing which was crazy it was just so out of place. Yes its sideways but i cant be bothered fixing the bloody thing so just turn your head!

I carried on my way after this encounter still heading for the crows, its pooring with rain and I'm trying to keep my cameras dry ( don't really know where i was going with that i got side tracked with the sound of strange samurai/cowboy movies coming from Kaori's dads room).
So i finally found where all the crows are at its taken me about 1.5hours  walking up this bloody hill but i've found them.

I'm at the very end of this little street trying to get some nice phot
os of the crows when i see a squirrel! OMG its a squirrel WTF! and its jumping from tree to tree not staying still long enough for me to get a photo of it. Off it goes off in to this forest I'm next to, so I follow it down these steps and into the middle of this forest. Well i'm only about 10m in when i remember about "Joro Gumo" and the story of dads father running threw some spider in WWII, so i come to a hell of a stop and take a good look around me... Sure enough spiderwebs the size of me are every where. As you can probably guess i left in a f*#@ing hurry!!
I got a few nice picks today and got to see a lot of new things including a hornet which i never got a photo of and wasn't going to even try. Search them online and you'll understand.

Just one last thing WTF does this mean i found it on a train to Yokohama

Out and about

Off i went this morning in search for some pics, I was looking for some of the local spiders, insects and birds.
I found them and i kinda wish i hadn't the spiders were massive and the wasp i found really didn't like me getting closer than about 2m.
This little lady called Joro Gumo who was not actually that little was amazing in colour and so was the web which stretched about 1m across.
Then there was this fella who watched my every move and turned to face me a little more every time i got closer. There are a few photos i took that are just a blur as i was clicking the shutter at the same time as i was running away like a little girl! He made sure i got no closer than about 2m hence the reason the image is not the best quality.

So far

So i have been in Japan 7 days and I'm only just getting use to to the 4 hour difference. We have spent most of our time here so far shopping and i have spent far to much money already, today it was shoes and it's pretty much impossible to get them my size here. So after 2 days of searching we finally found some they are to big but fingers crossed i think they are going to be ok, well they better be because they are my hiking shoes and they were expensive.
I have also brought a new camera canon 50D and lens 11-18(wide angle) I got after being frustrated that my old camera was just not capable of the things i wanted it to do.
So after all of that its left me pretty poor since i have already spent almost all of the extra cash i had for Japan. Now its time to just spend my days walking around and taking photos.
We exchanged our JR passes today and leave on our trip around Japan on the 3rd of November so until then i will try to make a short post each day and put up my favorite pic of the day.
I left Christchurch(pop 350,000), New Zealand  on the 15th of october to stay in Yokohama(pop 3,650,000), Japan.
I will be here for 86 days during which i will be traveling by train for 21 days from Hiroshima to Sapporo and a lot of places in between.

From here i will move on to Cape Town, South Africa.
I will be here for 12 days in which i will be jumping into a cage in the ocean full of Great white sharks..., a safari at a big 5 game park, skydiving and a lot of other fun stuff.

Then its off to London, U.K.
Where i will be living and working for the next 2 years and spending my free time traveling around Europe attached to a camera.
